A healthy eating presentation for the public at the end of March-Nutrition Month in Canada-will take advantage of the videoconferencing system that connects the health region to the rest of the province.

"Why do we eat?" is a free province-wide broadcast on March 30 featuring dietitian Michelle Archer. The presentation, sponsored by Accu-Chek, the Canadian Diabetes Association, and Telehealth Saskatchewan, will address the questions of why we are drawn to unhealthy foods and how these habits can be broken.

The live broadcast makes use of the Telehealth system installed in facilities across the province. Originally built for remote consultations with healthcare providers, the two-way videoconferencing system will allow for questions and communication between Archer and her audience members around Saskatchewan.

The broadcast runs from 7:00 to 8:30 pm on March 30. In the Sunrise Health Region, residents can attend at either St. Peter's Hospital in Melville or the Regional Health Centre in Yorkton.

The presentation is free, but those interested are asked to confirm their attendance in advance by calling 786-0776.
