Kamsack RCMP are seeking the public's assistance tracking down a 26-year-old Kamsack man who has breached curfew, a condition of a conditional sentence he is serving for resisting arrest.

Kendall Bryant was originally arrested by the Regina Police Service in January 2013 on charges of assaulting a police officer, assault with a weapon, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000.

When an officer responded to complaints of a suspicious car in an alleyway in North Central Regina in the early morning of January 22, 2013, he alleges Bryant accelerated toward him.

The officer then pulled his weapon and fired on the vehicle. The bullet went through the windshield and Bryant was hit in the leg, but continued to drive away dragging the policeman for 20 or 30 feet. Both were hospitalized.

Bryant was eventually released on conditions, which he breached resulting in Kamsack RCMP issuing a warrant in June 2013.

Shortly thereafter, he was rearrested and remanded until his trial February 20 at Court of Queen's Bench in Regina.

Bryant pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of resisting arrest, a reduced charge of simple possession of cocaine as well as theft under $5,000, mischief and failing to comply with an undertaking and failure to appear in court.

The justice sentenced him to an 18-month conditional sentence on the resisting arrest charge, a $1,000 fine on the drug charge and eight months imprisonment concurrent (time-served) on each of the remaining charges.

On July 11, Kamsack RCMP members conducted a curfew check and found Bryant missing.

Police advise that the suspect may be violent and ask that anyone having information on his whereabouts contact the detachment at (306) 542-5560 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-667-8477.
