A new group calling itself Rediscover Downtown, mostly centred around Second Avenue merchants, held a Summer Festival Saturday to draw people back to the core of the city.
Second Avenue was closed to traffic and the vendors moved their merchandise outdoors.
The event, sponsored by the Yorkton Business Improvement District featured a giant bouncy castle, various types of food, buskers, bands and a Farmer's market across the street at City Centre Park.
In between bouts of rain, a good turnout of visitors young and old and in between enjoyed fun and shopping in the sun.
