Martin Davenport has been appointed Chairperson to the Whitewood Housing Authority Board of Directors along with the reappointments of Valerie Kitzul and Paul Nieminen.

Whitesand Regional Park celebrated their 50th Anniversary this past weekend. Celebrations on Saturday, July 18 included a parade, supper, live music and raffles. Pictured here are a couple of the floats that were entered into the parade.

A 34-year-old Yorkton man has been sentenced to two years in prison following a guilty plea for trafficking cocaine. Tyson Blahey was picked up near Theodore on June 18 in a traffic stop.

A new fourplex which will be exclusively for persons with disabilities was green-lit at the regular meeting of Yorkton Council Monday. The development is to be built at 53 Lawrence via a Contract Zoning Agreement with the City.

The province and the Saskatchewan Medical Association (SMA) have reached a tentative four-year contract agreement for April 1, 2013 to March 31, 2017.

City Administration once again provided the regular meeting of Yorkton Council Monday with a Public Awareness Report.

The fountain was situated in the CPR Park and provided much beauty for our city. The flowers were the creation of the city’s Horticulturalist Theodore Onofreychuk. It was especially beautiful at night under colored lights.
