Phase II moving forward

Yorkton Council has approved a tender for development of York Colony Phase II. The project will consist of development of 25.61 hectares for both commercial and residential lots.

Program recognized

Tourism Yorkton recently earned the Gil Carduner Marketing Award at the Saskatchewan Tourism Awards of Excellence. The award is for marketing with a budget of more than $20,000. "I never, ever, ever thought we'd win," offered manager Randy Goulden.

Landfill rates rise

Landfill rates are on their way up in Yorkton, and they will increase in each of the next three years.

Airport receives cost-shared funding

The Yorkton Municipal Airport will see $800,000 invested in maintenance and upgrades thanks to two grants from the provincial and federal governments, plus matching funds from the City.
