Record employment numbers

There are more people working in Saskatchewan than ever before, according to the latest employment numbers released today by Statistics Canada. Employment increased by 10,400 people from May 2011 to May 2012, to an all-time high of 546,300.

City Council granted two temporary exceptions to Yorkton's noise bylaw at its regular meeting Monday. Janet Sharpe, manager of the Parkland Unit, Canadian Cancer Society made one of the requests.

Yorkton Council approved a discretionary use for 152 Myrtle Avenue at its regular meeting Monday. The request to construct a series of grain storage bins at a flax processor on the property first appeared before Council May 28.
