Dear Editor, As Remembrance Day approaches, I would like to pay tribute to the amputee veterans who founded The War Amps, which marks its 100th anniversary this year.

Frank. Dean. Sammy. On their own, just names, relatively common ones at that. Together, they bring to mind a group of people who achieved legendary status in their career.

The Kamsack Players Drama Club has partnered with the Yorkton Paper Bag Players to bring two one-act, competition plays to the stage in Kamsack. The plays will be performed at the Kamsack Playhouse Theatre on October 27.

Crossroads Credit Union announced the recipients of more than $34,000 in funding from the Crossroads Community Investment Fund in Canora on October 18, Credit Union Day, said Leanne Woloshyn, Crossroads corporate services officer.

Kamsack's RCMP Detachment hosted a Town Hall meeting at the Ukrainian Catholic Hall on October 11. Residents and stakeholders from Kamsack and the surrounding area were encouraged to attend.

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP members are preparing citizens in the area for increased traffic enforcement. The increased traffic enforcement will be targeting speeding, seatbelt violations, stop sign violations, and distracted driving offences.

Kamsack is on the list of stops for entertainer Ian Sherwood during his We’re Only Human Tour which started on September 27 in Victoria, B.C. and will wrap up in Leader on November 10.

The Government of Saskatchewan proclaimed October 14 to 20 as Saskatchewan Library Week (SLW) to celebrate the contribution libraries make in the lives of residents.
