An immigrant who is working as a continuing care aid at the Gateway Lodge has been honoured for her generous nature by being named immigrant of the year.

The Gateway Co-op will be offering not only a new convenience store, but a new liquor store to serve the Canora area. The Gateway Co-operative was selected as a new liquor vendor as part of the privatization of alcohol in Saskatchewan.

The Parkland Music Festival is scheduled to be hosted in the Preeceville and Sturgis areas from March 26 to April 1, 2017. "It is our turn this year to host the festival," said Anna Russell, president.

An annual toy drive is being held during the Winter Lights Festival to give back to the community and to those who may otherwise go without gifts for the Christmas season.
