A Remembrance Day service was held at Eaglestone Lodge on Nov. 8.

During Kamsack Legion's Remembrance Day banquet, a trumpet that had been played at Legion events for five decades and the bell that had been a part of the HMCS Kamsack corvette were presented to the Legion branch, and a Legionnaire of the Year was named.

"We remember those who stepped up in their generation in the past and gave the ultimate sacrifice," said Rev. Stephen Ruten. "We call out their names. Otherwise we can forget. We respect the memory of those who died, so we call out their names in remembrance."

Ratepayers went to the polls to choose councillors in two rural municipalities within the Canora area.

Kamsack hospital had seen issues with closures during summer

Yorkton Council accepted unanimously an administration recommendation to implement a hybrid pass structure at the Water Park.

The presentation came Monday with the unanimous support of Yorkton Council at its regular meeting to accept the recommendation from the Civic Recognition Awards Committee.

A male attended Canora Provincial Court and plead guilty to a shoplifting charge. He received 12 months probation and was ordered to pay $10.99 in restitution for the sausage sticks he stole.

Local Salvation Army minister said usage was up 15 per cent in September and climbed to 18 per cent in November.
