Mayor Gallant called the regularly scheduled meeting of the Town of Churchbridge council to order on September 28th with all members present.
After a few amendments, Councillor Prier made a motion to accept the Agenda as amended; motion carried.
Next, the council reviewed the revised Minutes for the meeting held on August 17, 2020. Councillor Larson made a motion to accept the revised minutes which was carried.
Councilor Craig made a motion to accept the Minutes of the September 14, 2020 meeting which was carried.
Councillor reports were next. Councilor Soltys read the Commissionaires Report first. Councilor Larsen gave the Library Report next, followed by a discussion about the campground shelter that was closed up due to COVID-19. Councilor Prier then reported on the rink news.
The Administrator Report was next. It was mentioned that town workers have been signed up for more training and a boiler for the pool was ordered.
A major discussion was had about paving Rankin Road. An Election update was given stating that three nominations were put forth for residents running for mayor and a few running for councillor, Councillor Larson made a motion to accept the Administrator’s Report.
Under Old Business, the council had the second and third reading of the Waste Management Amendment 2020-012 which was carried.
Next, the council reviewed the Correspondence received by the town over the month,. Councillor Thies made a motion to file the Correspondence; motion carried.
Carrying on, the council reviewed the Accounts for Approval. Councilor Melnyk made a motion to pay the accounts which was carried.
The August Financial Statement and Bank Reconciliation reports were reviewed by the council. Councilor Craig made a motion to accept the Financial Statement and Bank Reconciliation; the motion carried.
Moving onto New Business, Council Soltys made a motion to remove a couple of tax liens; the motion was carried.
Next, the council discussed the removal of a vehicle that is contrary to the Nuisance Bylaw. It was decided to leave the vehicle alone with a motion by Mayor Galant; motion carried.
EI Premium Reduction was next discussed and the topic was tabled to gather further information.
Councilor Larson made a motion to go in-camera to discuss personal staffing; the motion was carried.
