Fundraiser crop in the ground after group effort

“The Bike and Skate Park committee has been very fortunate in this year’s efforts for the wheat crop fundraiser which was seeded on May 18 on the outskirts of Preeceville," stated Andrea Tonn, Town of Preeceville recreation director.

“The Bike and Skate Park committee has been very fortunate in this year’s efforts for the wheat crop fundraiser which was seeded on May 18 on the outskirts of Preeceville," stated Andrea Tonn, Town of Preeceville recreation director.

Tonn said the success of the project is a tribute to the efforts of many participants.

“Special thanks goes out to Hoterra Farms who generously donated the land again for the fundraiser, without them this would not be possible. Many thanks goes out to Cory Paul who organized many of the donations for this project. He supplied his time and machine for the anhydrous application and was able to help us secure a very generous family to plant this year’s crop. Thanks also goes out to Prairie Soil Services for the donation of anhydrous fertilizer and Richardson Pioneer of Canora for the donation of the dry fertilizer.

“We were also fortunate to have the seed donated by Fedoruk Seeds of Kamsack which also helped us in getting donations from the seed company Alliance Seeds and the seed treatment from Bayer. They treated the seed for us and we are so grateful.

“The bike and skate committee is extremely thankful for everyone’s support as this cannot be done without all of the sponsors. We hope to have an update on additional fundraisers that will be happening soon in efforts of making this project go forward and become a reality," concluded Tonn.
