SASKATOON - The Saskatchewan Green Party has announced its candidate in Saskatoon Meewasin.

Jacklin Andrews is running as their candidate in the upcoming byelection. Andrews, who resides in the riding, also ran for the party in the 2020 election in the same riding.

Andrews' background includes medical social work, mental health services administration, teaching and counselling. On the Greens' Facebook page, Andrews lists three main priorities: stronger health care, sustainable environment and quality education.

The Green candidate joins what is becoming a crowded field for the Sept. 26 byelection. Also running are Nathaniel Teed of the New Democrats, Kim Groff of the Saskatchewan Party, Jeff Walters of the Liberal Party, and Mark Friesen of the Buffalo Party. The candidates are seeking the seat vacated by former NDP leader Ryan Meili in June.
