SASKATOON - The Buffalo Party of Saskatchewan has announced its candidate in the upcoming Saskatoon Meewasin byelection.

The party has confirmed on social media that Mark Friesen will be their nominee in the upcoming race.

Friesen is best known for his candidacy with the People’s Party of Canada in the last federal election in Saskatoon Grasswood, and has taken stands against vaccine mandates in the past.

This news brings to four the number of candidates running in the byelection, which has yet to be officially called. The byelection would fill the seat left vacant by the resignation of Ryan Meili earlier this year.

Other candidates nominated or announced so far have included Nathaniel Teed of the NDP, Kim Groff of the Sask Party and Jeff Walters of the Liberals.
