The Town of Hudson Bay council wrapped up their last council meeting in 2020 by having a look at current town service rates.
To follow the Saskatchewan consumer price index, the town will be increasing service rates for facilities like the pool and recreation complex, arena, hall rentals, and fire department by one per cent into 2021.
Firefighters were previously getting paid $26.55 an hour for calls and training and will not get paid $26.80 an hour. Previous rates for the department going out into the RM was $1.98 per kilometre and are now $2 per kilometre.
Ice rental fee changes will take place on April 1 and will go from $73.80 per hour to $74.55 per hour.
Administrator Teresa Parkman said it is a very small increase but will help the town keep up with annual inflation.
The council approved the increases during their short Dec. 8 council meeting. The council will meet again for their first meeting in 2021 on Jan. 12.
