On Friday, December 4, 2020, Mayor Atkinson called the Spy Hill council meeting to order with all council present and accounted for.
The council heard the report from the town worker Heather Cater. Council discussed the installation of a hard water line in the town, as well as removing an old furnace in the potable water house; a set of garbage and recycling bins has been requested by a resident.
Next, the council reviewed the minutes of the last meeting, and Councillor A. Perrin made the motion to accept the minutes as read; motion carried.
Carrying on, the council reviewed the financials. Councillor A. Perrin made the motion to accept the financials which was carried
Accounts paid were reviewed next before Councillor Jack made the motion to accept the account paid; motion carried.
The Fire Dispatch Contract was next discussed. The village has a 911 dispatch contract. Councillor B. Perrin made the Motion to renew the contract which was carried.
The council reviewed the correspondence received over the last month including minutes from the Carlton Trail Regional Park Board.
It was discussed that the hall has been winterized and shut down.
The landfill plan has been received but the council has received no word back yet.
For new business, the following was discussed.
The Potashville Music Festival emailed about a donation the village had made for the music festival which was cancelled due to COVID-19. The council decided that the Potashville Music Festival can keep the donation to go toward the next festival.
Subdivision was passed by the Provincial Government.
The loader was discussed, each year the town takes the loader to Duncan's Construction for its yearly maintenance.
The lift station was next discussed. With a lot of power issues, it was suggested they pre-wire the lift station to be able to hook up a portable generator.
The next meeting will be on January 11, 2021, at 8:30 A.M.
