The 2019 edition of the Boundary Bass Classic brought anglers from Saskatchewan, Manitoba and North Dakota to the Boundary Dam Reservoir on Saturday.

The Kamsack fire brigade was called five times during the last four days of May. The firefighting began May 28 when the brigade was called to a large grass fire in the RM of Cote south of Kamsack at about 4:30 p.m.

Theft from Vehicles The Canora/Sturgis RCMP are reminding the public to keep their vehicle doors locked. Around 7 p.m. on June 2, multiple vehicles at Crystal Lake were gone through, and items were stolen from the vehicles.

Red Apple Stores unveiled its newly-renovated store in Canora on June 1, at the previous Bargain Shop location at 310 Main Street. Customers received a free laundry baskets and the first 100 were given $10 shopping cards.

The 75th anniversary of D-Day, the largest seaborne invasion in history (June 6, 1944), was observed by members of the Kamsack branch of the Royal Canadian Legion during its annual Decoration Day service on June 2.

The Sturgis Kinsmen Club annual duck derby was another huge success with approximately 680 plastic ducks sold. The derby was held at the Sturgis Regional Park on June 2 with numerous families enjoying the afternoon of fun and friendship.
