Family, friends and classmates shared in the celebration of 18 Preeceville School graduates on May 18, when awards and scholarships were presented at the graduation exercises at the Preeceville Skating Arena.

Summer is almost here, and preparations are in full swing around Canora, said Aaron Herriges, director of leisure services, Town of Canora.

The town council of Outlook met for a regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday night, May 23.

Program making a comeback as rural crime remains a hot topic

The winners of the 2018 Better Newspapers Competition were announced at the Better Newspapers Competition Awards Banquet on April 28 in Saskatoon, according to a release from the Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association.

The Preeceville and District Heritage Museum is looking forward to another busy season. “We will officially open on May 28 with our open house," said Agnes Murrin, president of the museum.

The Canora Hospital auxiliary hosted its spring tea on May 12 at the Canora Hospital dining room. Although the attendance was down from previous years all the support was greatly appreciated, said Lorie Wasyliw, auxiliary president.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. on May 13 the Kamsack Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire on First Street within the town of Kamsack. Upon arrival firefighters found a two-story home fully engulfed in flames.

The Sturgis Sports and Rodeo committee has been busy planning events and activities for its third annual sports day on June 23 and June 24.

Canora’s CN Station House Museum and Visitor Centre is preparing for the upcoming summer season.
