Major money will benefit new pool, fire services

Staff at the Family Resource Centre is encouraging families with newborns to take advantage of a new program being offered which is said to help reduce cases of SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome.

The Sturgis Composite School will be welcoming the elementary students into the high school when the doors open on September 5. There are no new staffing changes at the school.

A huge street party that included a dance, music, food and a beer garden was held in Norquay on August 26 in celebration of RB’s Place’s one-year grand opening.

The Preeceville School staff and administration were busy on August 30, preparing to welcome students back for another school term prior to the first day of school.

The tradition of using working horses in the field is quickly becoming little more than a forgotten memory. Working to help preserve those traditions are a few dedicated teamsters that welcome the opportunity to showcase their horses.

Brad Cameron of Sturgis was one of the many volunteer mission workers at the Canada Summer Games held in Winnipeg on July 29 to August 13.

Combines were rolling in the field harvesting 145 acres of oats that were seeded with the purpose of a fundraiser for the Sturgis Composite School playground equipment.

AnnaLee Parnetta, the founder of the Sadok Ukrainian Dance School, has returned to the school as its instructor for the 2017-2018 dance year. Parnetta began Sadok in 2004 after noticing a need for dance in the community, said information from Sadok.
