OHS Trades Center wanted to give back to the community

Veterans' memorial event this Saturday

Marking five years in business recently was the Outlook Medical Pharmacy, which held a celebratory BBQ lunch on Thursday, June 1, which also collected donations for the community’s new swimming pool project.

The Preeceville School, in conjunction with the Preeceville wildlife club, hosted a fish release party at Lady Lake on June 10. The school had participated in the Fish in Schools program and successful raised 55 rainbow trout from the egg stage.

Over 100 academic, athletic and extra-curricular awards were presented at the Canora Composite School’s 53 rd annual awards night on June 6.

The Preeceville School students and staff took the opportunity of the walk-and -roll incentive to walk or ride a bicycle to school on June 1. The group gathered at the Preeceville wildlife campground and walked back to the school as a group.

The Best Buds Society is looking to expand to Yorkton. Paul Warnecke, the man behind the medicinal marijuana dispensary explained it was initially registered for business in 2014 with a location in Regina.

“If these walls could talk…” said Karen Vogel, a former student and teacher at the Fort Livingstone School in Pelly, said Friday during a farewell-to-the-school program.

Several district artists are exhibiting their works this month in the 2017 Landscape and Memory Exhibition at the Godfrey Dean Art Gallery in Yorkton. “We were overwhelmed,” Don Stein, the director of the Gallery, said last week.
