Like many other district backyard gardeners, Jack Leis of Kamsack has been busy harvesting the remainder of the produce that was grown during the summer season.

A group of 17 adult students are enrolled in a year-long course being held at Keeseekoose Chiefs Education Centre that is teaching them how to become educational assistants.

Representatives of 21 groups were among the persons to attend the Norquay Recreation Board’s annual general meeting on September 12.

Members of the Norquay Active Aging exercise group were involved in making a video for the Sunrise Health Region on August 31.

Students from the Sturgis Composite and Elementary schools did well as they competed against other schools for top spots during the Cherrydale cross-country meet in Yorkton on September 15.

Five of the 22 Preeceville School students placed in the top 10 of runners in the Cherrydale cross-country meet in Yorkton on September 15. "We had a good number of students who showed interest in the program," said Donna Hamilton.

The Sturgis Station House Museum hosted a cultural day on September 12 featuring Joseph Naytowhow. "I live in Saskatoon and have been traveling North America in a quest to find myself," said Naytowhow.

The Etomaimie Valley Riders horse club sponsored a gymkhana event on the Sturgis sports weekend on September 3 and 4. "Riders in the weepee, peewee, junior and seniors’ categories all competed in events throughout the weekend," said Darlene Walker.
