The Preeceville and District Health Action Committee has been formed within the community for the permanent and ongoing needs for doctor recruitment and retention.

The 17th Annual Charity Golf Classic, held at Yorkton June 11 and 12, was a huge success with golfers and sponsors raising enough money to buy 12 pieces of medical equipment for eight facilities in the region.

The Crossroads Credit Union acknowledged Kindergarten to Grade 5 students at the Sturgis Elementary school for their achievements throughout the school year. Doreen Bochniuk, Credit Union representative, made the presentations on June 16.

The Preeceville School Kindergarten students welcomed their parents and special guests to a graduation ceremony to acknowledge their achievements. The ceremony was held at the Preeceville School on June 17.

United Church congregations across Canada were invited to ring their church bells 91 times at 10:30 a.m. on June 15 to mark the 91st anniversary of the United Church of Canada.

Among the people who are most enjoying the warm summer and being able to leave the indoors to play outside are the children at the KamKids Daycare in Kamsack where an enhanced playground is being used to its fullest.

Proceeds from the sale of a Kamsack district greenhouse cookbook have been donated to Ronald McDonald House in Saskatoon in the name of a young Canora cancer patient.

The Good Spirit School Division band hosted its annual awards concert at the Sturgis Composite High School on June 1, featuring music steeped in tradition.

The Kamsack and District Hospital is currently undergoing minor renovations to better deliver services to residents utilizing the facility, said a release from Sunrise Health Region.
