May has been declared as MS Awareness Month.

Council makes way for apartment

An amendment to the City’s Zoning Bylaw will be required to make way for a new development at 96 Gladstone Avenue South. “The current zoning is R-1 General Residential and the property has a small house located on it.

JumpStart marked in city

May 28 will be Canadian Tire JumpStart Day in the city, and the month of June Canadian Tire JumpStart Month following a unanimous decision by Yorkton Council at its regular meeting Monday.

Mulch initiative returning

The Mulch It - Compost It Program is returning for a third year. Each year an estimated 1000 tonnes of grass clippings enter our landfill, when they could easily be mulched back into the lawn or composted instead.

New landfill cell approved

A new cell at the Yorkton landfill will be dug in the coming months.

Members of the Ukrainian dance club awed the audience at the Preeceville Spring Expo on April 16. Club members from the beginner, junior and intermediate groups performed at the trade show. Mikaela Musey is the dance instructor for the club.

The women of the Preeceville St. John Lutheran Church continued addressing the challenge of making a difference in the world. Members organized a sewing bee that created 70 quilts that will comfort the less fortunate in a time of need.
