In preparation for the start of the new season, the Yorkton AAA Midget Harvest have made some player signings.

They are also losing at least three players to different teams, said Jeff Odgers, Harvest head coach.
Gone are forwards Gage Rapitta, Levi Cable and Devin Fafard, said Odgers.

Rapitta was at a tryout camp for the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League. Cable, who was one of the top two leading scorers in Yorkton last season, will likely play with the Kootenay Ice this season. Odgers added that Fafard was at a tryout for the Saskatoon Blades and it's not likely he will be back.

To help compensate, Odgers made three signings stemming from Yorkton's tryouts.

Those tryouts were held here earlier this month.

Two from Lumsden as well as a third player from Melville.

Brayden Park and Brodie Schuedde both hail from Lumsden while Jayden Kreklewich last played in the Melville Bantam AA system.

In regards to goaltending, the Harvest have two netminders in place to start the season. Replacing Kale Thomson from last year's team is Taryn Phaneuf. Phaneuf will join Spencer Bomboir.

The team will see it's first taste of action together on Sept. 10 when they host the Regina Pat Canadians at the Farrell Agencies Arena.
