The Yorkton Terriers took a pair of games from their Highway 10 rivals the Melville Millionaires on the weekend boosting them into a tie for top spot in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Sherwood Conference.

The Saints Senior Boys Volleyball team competed in Melville on Nov. 17 for the 4A Regional Playoffs. Teams consisted of: Oxbow, Kipling and Kamsack in Pool A; and Melville Comprehensive, Sacred Heart and Esterhazy in Pool B.

The game of cricket is exploding in Saskatchewan. This year, the Saskatchewan Cricket League fielded 12 teams, unprecedented since early settlers of the province brought the game over from the United Kingdom in the late 1800s.

The Yorkton Lady Raiders senior volleyball team were in Prince Albert on the weekend for the provincial 5A championships. "Things went OK," offered coach Lee Poncelet, who added the team actually met its goal by being at the tourney.

The Yorkton Midget AAA Harvest gave its floundering season a bit of a boost last weekend taking a pair of games from Beardy's Blackhawks at Farrell Agencies Arena.

The Sacred Heart High School Senior Girls Volleyball team took part in the SHSAA 4A Girls Provincials this weekend in Regina. The tournament featured the ten top teams in the province.

The winners of last week's city elementary school volleyball championship believe teamwork and practice were the reasons for their success. "We had lots of good practices," said McKenzie Welke, co-captain of the MC Knoll Knights boys team.

An effort is being made to launch a ladies' recreational hockey team in the city, and they are in need of skaters.
