The Lady Saints were in Porcupine Plain on Saturday, February eighth for a four team round robin tournament which also included Norquay and Preecville. The Saints met the Norquay Nikes in the first game of the tournament.

The 3-1 loss to the Regina Pat Canadians on Sunday afternoon at the Farrell Agencies Arena was definitely not Carson Bogdan's fault.

The Sacred Heart Saints senior boys basketball team struggled in a basketball tournament in Lumsden over the weekend. The Saints went 1-2, dropping their first two games before winning the third to regain some lost pride.

Lumsden was not kind to the Yorkton Regional High School Lady Raiders senior basketball team over the weekend. The young and inexperienced Lady Raiders went 0-3 in the tournament, losing each game by double digits.

Records are made to be broken. Such as the one that Yorkton athlete Jaden Porte broke recently while participating in a track meet in Winnipeg.

On Saturday and Sunday, February first and second, Yorkton Martial Arts Training Centre (YMATC) students took part in a Masters Seminar Series in Melville.

The Yorkton Midget Kinsmen Terriers dropped a pair of home games this past weekend at the Farrell Agencies Arena, 3-2 to Weyburn and 10-6 to Estevan.

The Terriers are back atop the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Viterra Division. The return to top spot comes following a two win weekend by the Terriers.

Two local baseball players were in Arizona January 17-20 to take part in the 2014 16U Perfect Game MLK Championship baseball tournament which was held at several high school fields as well as Camelback Ranch Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

The fourth annual York City Classic basketball tournament graced the YRHS and SHHS gymnasiums with its presence this past weekend with all proceeds, some $700.00, being raised for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
