Since the Yorkton Regional High School Raider Gridders fell to the Moose Jaw Peacock Tornadoes in the 3A championship game last November, head coach Roby Sharpe has been counting down the days until the start of this season.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are off to the best start in history during head coach Corey Chamblin's lifetime with a 7-1 record. "I wasn't born yet," 36-year-old Chamblin said on the last time the Riders had this strong of a start back in 1970.

The Yorkton Canoe Kayak Club (YCKC) made their mark at the Divisional Regatta in Regina a couple weekends ago. The club, which sent three of its members to the event including Yorkton's Jessica Burgess, brought home gold and silver medals.
