The Western Hockey League bantam draft on May 2 was a great day for the 196 Western Canadian 15-year-olds who were selected. Their dreams of one day playing in The Show took a tiny step closer to becoming a reality.

On April 22, the Sacred Heart Saints dominated the city's senior badminton playoffs at the Yorkton Regional High School, taking seven of the 10-playoff spots. In girls' singles: Morgan Shymanski placed second.

The Deer Park Golf Course officially opened up their driving range on Monday, May 6. The course, however, isn't ready yet. They hope to open up at least nine holes by early next week.

Dalton Fichtner extended his football career from the high school ranks to the CIS by cracking the Regina Rams this past weekend. "It was a great feeling when I found out I made the team," said Fichtner.

Not a single Yorkton bantam AA Terrier was selected in the 2013 Western Hockey League bantam draft on May 2, but Saskatchewan was still well represented. The Land of the Living Skies had 37 players chosen in the 22-team draft.

After only one year in the Western Women's Canadian Football League with the Regina Riot, Becky Wallis cracked Team Canada for the 2013 International Federation of American Football Women's World Championship.
