After countless hours of hard work and determination, Canada is poised to enter the 2013 Dwarf World Games as an association this summer on August 3-10 in Michigan, USA for the first time in history.

The Yorkton Storm Speed-swimming Club recently competed at the Saskatchewan "A" Provincial Championship and Junior Cup in Prince Albert.

The seventh-place Seattle Thunderbirds weren't expected to put up much of a fight against the second-place Kelowna Rockets in the first round of the Western Hockey League playoffs.

In the first season of the Yorkton Novice Hockey League, the Core Real Estate Terriers took home the league title, besting the Clean Spot Terriers in the final 7-2. "It was a great year," said Core Real Estate head coach Jeff Sperling.

It was a tough pill to swallow for Dawson MacAuley when Medicine Hat Tigers head coach-GM Shaun Clouston told him in October that he was the odd man out in the blue paint. "It was a really rough day," said MacAuley.

When Jeff Odgers handed in his resignation this past week to the Yorkton Harvest, he had mixed emotions. On one hand, he enjoyed every minute of his two years as their head coach.

A combination of depth and talent ultimately lifted the Yorkton bantam DR Auto Extras Terriers to a provincial banner this season. "We had a really strong group this year," said Terriers head coach Grant Ottenbreit.
