Dear Editor: I am writing in response to the letter in your August 31 edition from Joan Kjargaard regarding Yorkton’s swimming pool.

Asomewhat iconic building is headed to, at best, new owners, but more likely demolition. The Alexander Ross branch of the Royal Canadian Legion in the city is struggling financially.

Checking texts, opening emails, answering the phone – some days I’d rather ignore those tasks. The other day they carried to me three bits of negative news. A beloved relative lay dying. A close friend didn’t get the job we’d hoped and prayed for.

As Canada becomes more and more infected with the politically correct, I have found myself sitting back and really paying attention to the outcome of special interest groups offending other special interest groups.

Many years ago, my Mom used to collect “Ideals” magazines. They were beautiful magazines with poems and short stories on seasonal themes, and always had absolutely lovely photography.

Yes, I have a Facebook page. And yes, it has a useful purpose, in my case to post photos of my travels so they can easily be shared with family and friends.

There’s nothing like a good workout to make you feel better. Indeed, it is well documented what exercise does for the body as well as the brain.
