The Yorkton Municipal Airport has become something of a quandary for local politicians. There are a few widely held views of the airport which pretty well detail the situation.

"Fine words butter no parsnips." Have you ever heard that expression before? It was new to me, and when someone very dear to us delivered that line with great sincerity, it made me burst out laughing. "Fine words butter no parsnips.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders dropped to 0-and-2 over the weekend by losing to the Montreal Alouettes on Saturday afternoon. Darian Durant was much improved, reducing his turnovers from 4 to 0.

Wind energy is increasingly being considered a viable and attractive power source. Many countries, including the U.S., Germany, Spain, China, and India, are putting policies into place to drive the development of their wind energy industries.

Michael Buchholzer, Director of Environmental Services with the City, deserves a pat on the back for having a vision which is certainly a tad outside the box, yet one which promises to enhance the experiences possible to enjoy in our city.

Our family spent Canada Day in Regina and as I watched an overcrowded Wascana Park enjoy things like free concerts, food vendors, and fireworks; I couldn't help but wonder if Yorkton could pull off something similar.
