Dear Editor: Emergency? Never mind the floodwaters at our front doors, we have bigger problems at hand. I, amongst a community, am grateful and excited to hear that two new doctors have agreed to come to our community in September.

It wasn't the record year we saw in 2008, but 2010 was a very good year for Saskatchewan's Crown corporations.

It was interesting recently to sit through a Regional Housing Conference held in Yorkton recently.

Dear Editor: Before the privatization of garbage pick-up in the city, garbage cans were in the back lane to get the stink and flies away from the house.

Watching this federal election campaign can bring tears to your eyes for a couple of reasons. Some of the things these leaders will do to buy your vote borders on the line between hilarious and sad.

We're at that awkward season now, aren't we: past winter, but with enough snow around that it doesn't quite feel like spring yet. Everything looks dusty and dirty and tired after a long, hard winter.

Dear Editor: On February 9, 2011, I attended the walk-in clinic for the first time. Like others, I was very impressed with the building's layout, enormous seating capacity and the very best handicap accessibility I have seen. I wish to commend Dr.

Garage sale signs pop up before the tulips in my part of the country. Along with the signs, people haul out their collections of unwanted, and no-longer-loved household items. We have a pile of "precious things" in our garage too.

Every day we hear news reports about people risking their lives for the right to choose their leaders. Here in Canada, many people are saying "Meh." We shouldn't be so complacent, and we should never take democracy for granted.
