Children, parents and grandparents enjoyed spending time together learning during the Regional KidsFirst Intriguing Minds: Parents and Children Together (IMPACT) program.

Sara Williams of Saskatoon, gardening author and retired University of Saskatchewan horticultural specialist will be doing a presentation on creating a prairie Xeriscape in Preeceville on March 29.

This year’s recipient of the Boehringer Ingelheim WCABP Veterinarian of the Year award is Dr. Richard Krauss from Preeceville, stated the Saskatchewan Veterinary Medicine Association newsletter.

The Preeceville Bantam Pats won the A side banner at the Swan River Bantam Tournament held in Swan River Man. on February 14 to 16.

Eric Prestie, member of the Preeceville 606 Harvard Air Cadets participated and did well at the Saskadet biathlon held February 8 and 9 at Camp Saskadet on Round Lake.

Doctor Ali Amin Lari joined the staff at the Preeceville and District Health Centre in the Primary Health Care Clinic on February 3. He studied at the University of Medical Sciences in Shiraz, Iran and graduated from the university in 2000.

The snowmobile safety training course focused on better preparing younger snowmobilers to become more safety minded and responsible riders. It was held at the Preeceville School with 10 individuals participating in the course.

“Walking is one of the best exercises for all age groups and it is free,” said Eugene Boychuk, one of the organizers of the Sturgis indoor walking program. The program kicked off for another season on November 1.

The first round of provincial hockey playoffs had the Preeceville Midget Pats on the road in Humboldt against the Broncos in the Elgar Peterson Memorial Arena on February 5.

The Sturgis Kinsmen and Kinettes are preparing their 40th annual Mini-Miracle and organizers have said they have a full stage of talent lined up.
