Recently I have been made aware of social media posts and a letter to the editor regarding a Good Spirit School Division (GSSD) Administrative Procedure on Gender and Sexual Diversity.

The Preeceville Peewee White hockey team has kept its provincial run and playoff hopes alive with important wins. Provincial games are based on the best of two games and total points from both games. Regular playoff games are the best of three games.

The Okla snowmobile derby attracted 42 sleds on February 18. Snowmobilers traveled 40 miles through the scenic environment and met back at the Okla Community Hall for supper and awards.

The Canadian Reining Committee of Equestrian Canada formally welcomed Rhea Pole of Preeceville on February 8 as its new Chef D’equipe (manager) for the 2018 World Equestrian Games Canadian Reining Team, stated a news release from the Canadian Reining

There is a new Gender and Sexual Diversity policy being drafted by the Good Spirit School Division and rolled out to our schools. It states that “trans(gender)-positive content” will be taught in all subject areas and for all grade levels.

The Endeavour Open Bonspiel, held February 9 to 11, attracted eight teams. The Dale Crozier rink, comprised of Shannon Geistlinger, Russell Geistlinger , Cozier and Trever Geistlinger won first in the A event.

For the month of January, Adley and Sage Ward, both of Preeceville played host to Flat Stanley, a character from the book series named after him, said Leslea Hanson, their mother.

The Sturgis Kinsmen and Kinettes are preparing their 38 th annual Mini-Miracle and organizers have said they have a full stage of talent lined up.

Seven Sturgis Composite School staff members were recognized for their dedication, hard work and years of service in a special ceremony at the school on February 15.
