The Sturgis Composite School has opened its doors to providing a breakfast for students. The program kicked off January 16 with Kendra Fowler responsible for operating the program.

I set up No. 1 daughter, Katrina, with her own computer, Lightroom 4 and Photoshop Elements 13. The first thing she did was Photoshop my head onto Peter Griffin's body. That’s Peter Griffin, the Family Guy; heh, heh.

The Joe Yacyshyn rink of Preeceville topped the Preeceville Seniors Bonspiel held the week of January 9-12. Team members included, Nick Bodnar, Darrell Laughren and Mary Pasiechnik. There was a total of 15 entries attracted to the bonspiel.

The Kelvington 4-H Beef Club finished 2017 by having a sledding party at Greenwater Provincial Park on December 17. “There were a lot of thrills, chills and spills,” said Blake Zagrodney, club reporter.

The Preeceville School and the School Community Council hosted a literacy event on January 11. The event featured its writer-in-residence, Sigmund Brouwer, a Canadian author.

The Preeceville branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation hosted its annual antler measuring event at the Preeceville Community Hall on January 7.

The Rural Municipality of Preeceville made its committee and board appointments for 2018 at the December meeting of council, according to Lisa Peterson, administrator.

This year was another great year for the kids for the 14th annual Children's Christmas store that was held on December 20 at the Preeceville Public Library, said Linda Shewchuk, an organizer.
