Preeceville Progress

The provincial government’s decision to consolidate the 12 existing regional health authorities into one single entity was discussed by Don Rae, chair of the Sunrise Health Region board at its meeting on January 25.

Preeceville School students in grades 4 to 8 rose to the challenge of public speaking in front of a panel of judges, teachers, peers and parents in an oratory competition on February 3.

( see Photo Gallery below ) The Preeceville and District Mushers Rendezvous kicked off on February 3 with a talent show at the Preeceville Legion Hall where 15 artists and dancers were featured. Rhonda Cook and Brittnay Halkyard were the emcees.

Cast members held their first organizational meeting and reading of the United Church annual spring play at the Trinity United Church in Preeceville on January 31.

( see photo gallery below ) The main attraction at the annual Preeceville and District Musher Rendezvous held at the Preeceville Skating Arena from February 3, 4 and 5 were dog sled races but many other activities focused on fun were also held.

The Kelvington Trailblazers hosted its 31st annual snowmobile rally on February 4 when 234 riders attended.

The 18 th annual Preeceville and District Mushers’ Rendezvous was said to have been another success and proceeds are to go towards the Preeceville, Sturgis and Endeavour hall complexes.

The Rural Municipality of Hazel Dell made its committee and board appointments for 2017 at the January 18 meeting of council.
