Preeceville Progress

Following the success of their first collaboration disc, Twin Fiddles, which garnered a Western Canadian Music Award nomination, has released a second album.

The Crossroads Credit Union acknowledged two students from the Preeceville Elementary School for their outstanding efforts. Doreen Bochnuik, representative from the Crossroads Credit Union, made the presentations on June 27.

Jesse Stoudt, a 2015 Sturgis Composite High School graduate, was presented the Governor General’s Medal for academics by Brad Cameron, principal, at the school on June 28.

( see photo gallery below ) Numerous students at the Sturgis Composite High School received awards on June 23 to celebrate their accomplishments throughout the school year.

Residents of Preeceville and area will soon benefit from additional physician services in the community.

The hot weather made for perfect conditions for the summer solstice fun day held at Annie Laurie Lake on June 24. The fun day featured numerous different summer activities with a giant slip-and-slide being the highlight of the afternoon.

The Preeceville Club 60 hosted a fun wind-up day for the seniors of the club and surrounding areas on June 14. Members enjoyed socializing and playing a variety of games throughout the day.

The Preeceville and District Heritage Museum received a special donation from the Peter Rupchan collection on June 17. Ed and Norman Harris presented the museum with a bowl from the Peter Rupchan collection. It will be on display at the museum.

( see photo gallery below ) The Preeceville and District Heritage Museum brought back a taste of the past on June 24 with a 1950s fun night. The evening kicked off with volunteers dressing up in 1950s’ apparel.
