Preeceville Progress

The Tim Olson rink of Preeceville, with Jess Olson (third), Ralph Ager (second) and Denise Olson (lead), won the annual Stenen Open Bonspiel which ran from January 31 to February 7. There were 16 rinks registered for the bonspiel.

Karissa Hoffart will be the headline performer at the annual Sturgis Kinsmen Mini-Miracle scheduled for March 3.

Shirley Jackson of Saskatoon began working as the acting administrator for the Town of Preeceville on January 4. She is on contract filling in for a 12-month maternity leave for Lorelei Karcha.

The Whitehawk Arts Council is scheduled to welcome the Travelling Mabels on February 25 for the second concert in the Stars for Saskatchewan series. The Travelling Mabels are scheduled to perform at the Sturgis Community Hall on February 25.

The Rural Municipality of Hazel Dell council made numerous appointments for 2016 during the January 12 meeting, according to Christina Sorgen, assistant administrator.

The Lintlaw Playground Committee reported that it’s at the halfway point of making the new playground equipment area a reality.

Communities across the area celebrated Shrove Tuesday with pancake suppers. Members of the Trinity United Church in Preeceville hosted their annual celebration on February 9.
