The 1996 graduating class from Sturgis Composite High School hosted a 20-year anniversary on July 23 with 17 of 46 members in attendance. Classmates gathered for brief registration prior to a tour of the Sturgis School, said Kristen Peterson.

A town hall meeting was held July 20 at the Legion Hall to discuss the future of the Preeceville Hospital. The Preeceville and District Health Focus Group hosted the meeting which drew a crowd of roughly 200 people, said Stacey Strykowski.

The centennial of the Green Leaf Cemetery was celebrated with a special blessing of deceased family members’ graves on August 7. The cemetery is located 12 miles north and four miles east of Preeceville. Rev.

The Preeceville Trinity United Church was the location for the United Church Vacational Bible School that attracted 55 children from the Grace and Trinity United churches from July 25 to 29.

For the first time in Saskatchewan’s history, a rural Saskatchewan Senior team, the Assiniboine Aces, won a gold medal during the Saskatchewan Senior Fitness Association’s provincial tournament.
