Preeceville Progress

Runners from both the Sturgis Composite High and the Sturgis Junior Elementary schools brought home medals from the three cross-country meets held in the area. Cherry dale meet was held September 9; York City, September 14; and Saltcoats.

The Preeceville School cross country team has been working hard and that dedication has paid off. Members brought home several medals from cross-country meets in Cherry-dale (Yorkton) and Salt-coats.

Members of the Preeceville Harvard Air Cadets joined the Melville Air cadets as they traveled to Camp SaskCadet for a fun weekend of learning outdoor survival techniques on September 25 and 26.

Preeceville and Sturgis schools will be opening their doors to the public in celebration of Education Week from October 19 to 23.

The “House business” that needs to be cleaned up before the next provincial election hardly merits the fall sitting that begins next week.

I wish I could vote for Hillary Clinton. Given that we sleep with the elephant, and everything south of the border affects us, it would only seem fair that we could vote in US elections.

The editor: It was a breath of fresh air for me to read the Letter to the Editor by Edward Sagan of Melville in the September 17 issue of the Canora Courier entitled The Tories Turned Back the Clock 115 Years.

For much of this election, the issues have been a lot of blah, blah, blah to most people.

There is a federal election on. In fact it’s been on far longer already than any election in the modern age of electronic social media should ever be.

Okay, I have decided to come clean and admit it. I have an addiction. I know it’s hard to believe that such a fine, upstanding citizen such as myself could have a problem, but it’s true and it’s time for me to face the fact.
