Preeceville Progress

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Elsie (Chornomitz) Mitchell on September 3rd, 2015, at the age of 70 years in Preeceville, SK. Elsie was born on January 25, 1945 in the hospital in Preeceville.

February 19, 1939 September 5, 2015. It is with sadness and heavy hearts that our families announce the passing of Alf G. Arneson of Stony Plain, AB on September 5, 2015 at the age of 76 years old.

On July 31 to August 2, four generations of Folwark family members from across Canada gathered at the Sturgis Community Hall for a weekend of celebration uniting family members and strengthening family bonds.

Elementary students from Preeceville School enjoyed participating in their annual track-and-field meet that was kicked off with the back-to-school barbecue on September 4.

Building permits in Saskatchewan took a huge jump in July, up 59.8 per cent over June (seasonally adjusted), the highest percentage increase among the provinces. On the national front, permits dropped 0.6 per cent over the same period.

Jokingly described as “country bumpkins,” the Assiniboine Golden Aces senior co-ed slo-pitch team went to Saskatoon on August 2930 for the SPN (Saskatchewan Provincial – National) tournament and returned with the B-side title.

With more than 100,000 lakes, Saskatchewan is one of the world’s premier wilderness canoeing destinations. For thousands of years these waterways have been closely tied to the culture of First Nations’ people, which continues to this day.

The Preeceville Panther football team was put to the test through exercises and plays to prepare for the first home game on September 16. The camp was held from September 1 to 4 with practices on a daily basis.

Preeceville Nursery School is a safe and fun learning environment for children aged three and four. Registration for the students was on September 8.
