Hundreds of martial arts enthusiasts filled the Flexihall in the Gallagher on Apr. 28 for 2018 Prairie Wildfire Taekwondo Challenge. The day-long event was open to people from a wide range of ages and experience-levels.

The Yorkton Bongo Volleyball 16U team wrapped up their season at the provincials in Warman, Sk. The team finished the round robin in first place, but lost to the Regina Volleyball Club in the semi-final.

The 14U Bongo Volleyball team has finished their season with a bronze medal in division 1 at provincials in Warman, SK. The team was seeded first going into the tournament, and finished the round robin in first place.

It’s obvious no one likes to see their tax bill going up. But, it is more palatable when the results are generally positive. For taxpayers in Yorkton they seem to be seeing the two-sides of that coin.

Greg Apland is proud of his feathered friends. When he sits in the sun room of his home, he’s surrounded by birds. Different breeds sit on their perches, some preparing for flight while others rest. They’re all frozen in time.
