The provincial government is talking to the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association, and Yorkton Mayor Bob Maloney said that is at least a positive step.

The Yorkton RCMP wants to respond to the needs of the community. But in order to respond to those needs, they need to know what those needs are, and that was the purpose behind two town hall meetings hosted by the municipal detachment.

Saskatchewan’s annual winter free fishing weekend once again coincides with the province’s Family Day holiday weekend on February 17, 18 and 19. Saskatchewan’s public waters are open one weekend each winter to encourage participation in ice fishing.
