Yorkton This Week

In a Saskatchewan courtroom last week, a decision came down that has kicked a hornet’s nest of controversy which has already begun to ripple across our country and through our society.

A woman with multiple charges in several jurisdictions was denied bail at a show cause hearing in the Yorkton Provincial Court last Friday. Stephanie Delnea is facing 24 charges, including assault, operation while impaired, and fraud.

There was little in the way of good news in terms of municipal funding coming out of the recent Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association (SUMA) convention, at least in the short term.

A vocal group of protesters braved the cold weather last Saturday to voice their outrage over the recent Gerald Stanley Court case decision. Last Friday, a jury found Gerald Stanley not guilty of killing Colten Boushie in August 2016.
