Yorkton This Week

The Yorkton Kinsmen AA Midget Terriers rolled up an 8-1 win Saturday and 7-2 win Sunday at the Farrell Agencies Arena over the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors.

A Yorkton man has pled guilty to four robberies in the region. Chris Chernoff pled guilty to four counts of robbery and three counts of wearing a face mask in the commission of a robbery. He also pled guilty to three counts of possession of fentanyl.

One thing about rainwater is that it rarely stays in the same spot that it falls. It has a tendency to flow across the landscape collecting in natural spots such as sloughs, creeks and rivers.

Anthony Brass was born in Norquay, SK on October 21, 1970 and passed away January 13, 2018 in Saskatoon. Anthony grew up in Sturgis, SK and later moved to Saskatoon and spent 15 years at Parkridge Centre.

Norman David Nerbas was born on the family farm 7 miles south of MacNutt in the R.M. of Churchbridge on January 22, 1925 to John Fred Nerbas and Dorothea (Dora) nee Mack, the sixth of eight children. Baptised at MacNutt Feb. 11, 1925.

Mrs. Mary Perpeluk of Melville, formerly of Yorkton, beloved wife of the late Willie Perpeluk, entered eternal rest on January 14, 2018 at St. Paul Nursing Home. She was 89 years of age.

Arnold Clifford Vickers was born in Bredenbury, SK on December 5, 1927, son of Harry and Hester (Parkinson) Vickers. Arnold attended school in Bredenbury. He worked on the family farm and then began trucking. He spent many years behind the wheel.

Mr. Leonard Schlechter of Yorkton, beloved husband of the late Eva Schlechter, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2018, just 4 days short of his 95th year. Leonard was born January 16, 1923 in Waldron, SK.
