Yorkton This Week

After a weekend split the Rawtec Maulers sit tied for sixth in the Saskatchewan AAA Midget Hockey League with the Saskatoon Contacts with 24 points based on a record of 11-12-1-1. The Notre Dame Hounds lead the loop with 41 points.

UPDATE: Rob Clarke has dropped out of the race for Sask Party leadership. At this time, we don't know if he'll still be attending the event.

The City of Yorkton is looking to become involved in a Jordan Municipal Support Project (JMSP). The five-year project is being implemented through the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM).

The new year sits on the horizon, only a few weeks away, and yet there has been no first look at the 2018 budget for the City of Yorkton.

The City of Yorkton is looking to update its Property Standards Bylaw. The current Property Standards Bylaw No. 1/2011 was originally adopted in 2011.

Water rates are going up again in 2018. Rates have risen in each of the past seven years for a total of 21.32 per cent. At its regular meeting Monday Yorkton Council approved a 3.97 per cent increase effective Jan. 1.

Dear Editor: This may be an OCD story to some who never relied on the service of the STC bus. Life is tough in the country without the bus, also the bus through Yorkton to Saskatoon parks way out of the city as I hear.

Dear Editor, As a senior citizen in the Sunrise Health Region, I am concerned about the services presently not being offered in this district. Several months ago, our podiatry clinic was closed with little warning.
