Yorkton This Week

A former Yorkton resident has weathered the lashings from the storm in Florida and emerged on the other side mostly unscathed. Todd Hubbs endured Hurricane Irma from his home in Palm Bay, suffering only minor property damage.

Football. Cheerleading. Band. Fireworks. All of that, and more, can be experienced at this week’s sixth annual Friday Night Lights football game. The game is held on Friday, Sept. 15 at 7:00 p.m.

Morris Industries Ltd., one of Canada’s leading and longestablished farm equipment manufacturers, has announced expanded new ownership led by Ben Voss.

On Wednesday, September 6, Yorkton’s Inner Cycle Studio celebrated their first birthday. To celebrate, the studio brought all of their bikes to Yorkton’s City Centre Park to offer outdoor rides, merchandise sales and a barbecue.

I f there is a singular issue with governments these days it is that the further removed the voter is from the seat of power the greater the seeming lack of awareness coming for the elected officials.

Although school is just getting started, some sports teams are already well into their season. Sacred Heart High School hosted its annual senior boys’ volleyball tournament on September 8-9.

The Yorkton Terriers wrapped up their preseason on Sunday evening, finishing with a 2-1-2 record.

CHESNEY - Beverley "Bev" Bernice Chesney (nee Buckle) was born on March 18, 1933 at the Yorkton Hospital, the daughter of Dennis and Willa (nee Thompson) Buckle. She was the eldest child in a family of five children.

BEATTY - Kenneth James Beatty, 25 April, 1930 - 2 September, 2017. Mr. Kenneth Beatty of Yorkton, SK passed away on the morning of September 2, 2017 at the Yorkton and District Nursing Home.
