Yorkton This Week

Trent Cassan is an important name in Yorkton Terriers history. He spent six full seasons as head coach of the Terriers from 2010 to 2016, as well as a partial season as interim head coach (2009-10).

The Yorkton Terriers Junior Hockey Club are seeking billets for the 2017-18 season. Each new hockey season the Yorkton Terriers welcome new and returning players to the city of Yorkton to play for this great organization.

Last weekend, the Yorkton E&S Yankees hosted the Baseball Sask senior men’s tier II provincials at Jubilee Park. The Border City Blue Jays captured the provincial title after beating the Oxbow Chiefs in the final 7-0.

Team Sask concludes the 2017 Canada Summer Games with 35 podium performances and multiple historic finishes.

KOPAN - Mrs. Sylvia Kopan of Yorkton, formerly of the Insinger district, beloved wife of the late Walter Kopan, entered eternal rest on August 5, 2017 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre.

PHIPPS - George Charles Phipps. August 20, 1956 - August 7, 2017.

TORRIE - It is with deep sadness that the family of Ronald "Ron" John Torrie announce his passing on Thursday, August 3, 2017. He was 67 years of age. Ron was born on October 14, 1949 in Yorkton, SK, the eldest son of William and Alma Torrie.
