Yorkton This Week

Christ the Teacher Catholic Schools will have a contended election in Yorkton. There are five candidates running for the four separate school board seats representing the city of Yorkton.

The slate of candidates for the six seats as Councillors in the City of Yorkton is a long one.

A former Yorkton politician will not spend time in jail, but must pay back more than $15,000 he obtained by fraud.

It was a sleepless weekend for a lot of people within administration for the city and on city council as well. We are deeply disappointed, the work should have been completed, with all of the tie-ins, by last Friday.

We drove around and we saw where the canola plants are and how the rail lines come up to the crushing plants and so forth. When you live in a city like I do, you take all of that for granted. You get your bottle of canola oil and you just use it.

Chad Nehring spent his high school years like many other young athletes: balancing a mixture of sports. He played for the football team at Yorkton Regional High School, and also played some hockey on the side.

After a weekend of rivalry, the Yorkton Terriers came out with one loss and one overtime win in a series against the Melville Millionaires in Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League play.

Dear Editor: The recent automobile tradgedy just south of Yorkton a couple weeks back, brings to mind the stark reality of the dangers that lurk on the highways in the Yorkton and Melville area.
