Dear Editor, My son recently had five day stay at Yorkton’s mental health residence at Pine. My reason for this letter is twofold. First, I want to thank all the nurses and staff for the excellent care they provided my son while he was at Pine.

Some years Thanksgiving comes and goes and it seems little more than a day off from the drudgery of our 9-to-5 lives, and a reason to consume too much turkey and pumpkin pie.

The Yorkton Public Library is open at 9 a.m. Monday-Friday. --- Parkinson’s Disease Support Group Meeting Wed., Oct. 19, 2 p.m. at the Yorkton & District Nursing Home. All Parkinson’s patients & interested persons welcome.

Helen Pohozoff of Yorkton, and formerly of Canora, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on September 30, 2016 at the Canora Hospital at the age of 87 years.

Merylene Lorenz (nee Pelletier) - beloved Mother, Kohkum, Great Kohkum, Sister & Aunt passed away peacefully on September 30, 2016 at the Yorkton District Nursing Home.
