With nearly a decade’s experience on Yorkton Council, James Wilson has announced he will seek another four-year term this October.

The final suspect in a violent home invasion allegedly perpetrated four months ago in downtown Yorkton is in custody.

A former Yorkton resident has pleaded guilty to two Regina murders. Clayton Bo Eichler had been scheduled to go on trial beginning September 19 for the deaths of Kelly Nicole Goforth and Richele Lee Bear.

A judge has denied bail to a Yorkton man accused of armed robbery. Troy Mamchur faces four charges including break and enter, robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of break and enter tools.

The Yorkton Terriers started out their regular season play this weekend. On Friday, more than 1,000 people gathered at the Farrell Agencies to support the Terriers in their first game against the Weyburn Red Wings.

Longtime coach and manager of the Yorkton Cardinals Bill Sobkow passed away on Sept. 14.

The Sacred Heart Saints football team took their 1-0 record on the road Friday, Sept. 16 to face the Broadview Bandits in East Central 9-man football league action. The Bandits also held a 1-0 record going into the game.
