Asomewhat iconic building is headed to, at best, new owners, but more likely demolition. The Alexander Ross branch of the Royal Canadian Legion in the city is struggling financially.

Dozens of students and their families attended Parkland College’s annual University Orientation Night August 31. The college continues to grow its university offerings with nearly 200 students registered in university programs and courses this year.

Almost 80 players hit the ice at the Farrell Agencies Arena over the weekend at the Yorkotn Terriers camps. With the official start of the 2016-2017 season just around the corner, the training has begun.

The first game of the season for the YRHS senior Raiders football team was held in Swift Current on Thursday, Sept. 1. The Raiders got off to a slow start in the first quarter, allowing the Swift Current Colts to gain a 7-0 lead.

Ruth Slobodian, 1942, Nov 21 - 2016, Aug 29. Ruth Slobodian died of pancreatic cancer at Regina General Hospital, SK.

William Joseph "Bill" French was born on February 21, 1929 in Galt, ON, the third, but first surviving child of Michael and Marjorie (nee Hodgson) French. He was raised on the family farm in the Township of Puslinch, County of Wellington in Ontario.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Gena Tzupa (nee Yarycky). Gena passed away on August 25, 2016 at the age of 76 years.

Mr. Jullian Furmaniuk of Yorkton, formerly of the Norquay district, entered eternal life on July 25, 2016, at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, at the age of 73 years.
